Description
These juicy and flavorful turkey burgers are a high-protein alternative to beef. Bound with egg and breadcrumbs, they maintain moisture and shape on the grill or skillet, making them perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
1½ lbs ground turkey (93% lean)
1 egg, beaten
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
4 burger buns, toasted
Toppings like avocado, tomato, and lettuce, as desired
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well incorporated.
Divide mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each into a patty, ½ inch thick.
Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add patties and cook for 5-6 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
To serve, place each cooked patty on a toasted bun and add your desired toppings, such as avocado, tomato, and lettuce.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the turkey, as this can lead to dense, rubbery patties.
Substitute the breadcrumbs with rolled oats or almond flour for a gluten-free option.
These burgers freeze well for up to 1 month—cook fully before freezing.
