Perfectly caramelized and incredibly tender, this recipe uses simple pantry staples like apple cider vinegar and aromatic spices to create a professional-grade glaze. It is an effortless, family-friendly meal that delivers consistent, juicy results whether roasted in the oven or charred on the grill.
Ingredients
8 chicken drumsticks
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons stoneground mustard
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill for medium-high heat.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, stoneground mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels to ensure better glaze adhesion.
Place the drumsticks in a bowl and pour 3/4 of the glaze over them, tossing to coat thoroughly.
Arrange the drumsticks on a lined baking sheet or cleaned grill grates.
Cook for 45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
Brush with the remaining glaze in the last 5 minutes of cooking for a glossy finish.
Serve warm.
Notes
For deeper flavor, let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for up to 4 hours before cooking. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the heat is indirect to prevent the honey from burning too quickly.
