Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (lean)
2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
Heat oil in a large pot or pan over medium heat and add cumin seeds.
Add the onions and sauté until golden brown.
Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
Add the chopped tomatoes, turmeric, coriander, chili powder, and salt.
Cover and cook until the tomatoes soften and release their oils.
Add the cubed potatoes and a splash of water, then cover and simmer until potatoes are tender.
Sprinkle with garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
This dish is best served with warm naan or roti. Leftovers store exceptionally well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Adjust the chili powder to reach your desired spice level.
