Description

A tender, savory Southern-style chicken dish made with a rich braising liquid in a slow cooker. Packed with ranch seasoning, au jus, and tangy pepperoncini, it’s easy to prepare and bursting with flavor, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 packet ranch seasoning (1 oz)
1 packet au jus gravy mix (1 oz)
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup chopped pepperoncini peppers, including brine

Instructions

Pat chicken breasts dry and place in the slow cooker.
Sprinkle ranch seasoning and au jus mix evenly over the chicken.
Stir melted butter into pepperoncini peppers and brine, then pour the mixture over the chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours.
Shred the chicken using two forks while still in the slow cooker. Stir in the cooking liquid to combine thoroughly.
Serve with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

Ensure your slow cooker is properly prepped and free of any strong odors.
For a richer flavor, let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before shredding.
Use gluten-free ranch seasoning and au jus mix for a gluten-free version.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
