Description
Elegant, bite-sized lasagna rolls with creamy ricotta, melted mozzarella, and marinara sauce. A modern, easy-to-assemble alternative to traditional layered lasagna.
Ingredients
12 lasagna noodles
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
1 cup sliced mozzarella
3 cups marinara sauce
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil (for baking)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Parboil lasagna noodles for 4-5 minutes until al dente; drain and lay flat.
In a bowl, mix ricotta with a pinch of salt and pepper. Spread evenly onto each noodle.
Top with a slice of mozzarella and a drizzle of marinara. Roll tightly into a cylinder.
Place seam-side down in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Repeat with remaining noodles.
Pour remaining marinara over the rolls. Top with shredded mozzarella and a pinch of salt.
Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use gluten-free lasagna noodles if needed.
Letting rolls rest improves sliceability.
Leftovers keep well for 2-3 days.
