Ingredients
8 oz ground beef
2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
2 jalapeño peppers, roasted and diced
4 slices hearty bread
2 slices pepper jack or cheddar cheese
1 tbsp butter
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the diced roasted jalapeños.
Shape the ground beef into two patties and season with salt and pepper.
Sear the beef patties in a hot skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through, then remove and set aside.
Spread the jalapeño-cream cheese mixture onto one side of each bread slice.
Place a slice of cheese on each bottom piece of bread, followed by a beef patty.
Top with remaining bread slices and spread butter on the exterior of the sandwiches.
Grill the sandwiches in the skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Notes
Adjust the heat by removing the seeds and membranes from the jalapeños before roasting.
For extra crispiness, ensure the skillet is preheated before placing the sandwiches on it.
You can substitute pepper jack with cheddar or provolone depending on your preference for spice.
