Description

A protein-packed, nutrient-dense stir-fry that combines lean ground beef with crunchy broccoli in a savory, umami-rich sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights, this one-pan meal delivers high-end takeout flavors in under thirty minutes without using any alcohol or pork products. It is the ultimate balance of convenience, simple preparation, and wholesome nutrition.

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef
4 cups broccoli florets
2 tbsp avocado oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp low-sodium beef broth
1 tsp honey
1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Green onions for garnish

Instructions

Place a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil.
Add broccoli florets with two tablespoons of water, cover, and steam for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove from pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add the remaining oil and brown the ground beef, breaking it into crumbles until fully cooked and caramelized.
Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the beef, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, honey, and sesame oil.
Pour the sauce over the beef mixture and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
Return the broccoli to the pan and toss everything together to coat thoroughly.
Serve warm, optionally garnished with sliced green onions and red pepper flakes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For a heartier meal, serve over brown rice or cauliflower rice. Ensure the beef is thoroughly browned to maximize the Maillard reaction for richer flavor.
