Description

Transform the classic American sandwich into a hearty, crowd-pleasing pasta bake. This Sloppy Joe Casserole combines savory ground beef in a tangy, sweet tomato sauce with tender farfalle pasta and a rich, double-cheese topping. Perfect for busy weeknights, this one-dish wonder minimizes cleanup while delivering the bold, nostalgic flavors your entire family will crave.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
15 oz tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 lb farfalle pasta, cooked al dente
1 cup Velveeta, cubed
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a large pot or skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and green pepper until the meat is fully cooked and vegetables are tender.
Drain any excess grease from the pan.
Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the cooked farfalle pasta to the meat mixture and toss to coat evenly.
Stir in the cubed Velveeta until it begins to melt.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with the shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

Notes

Ensure you cook the pasta to al dente so it doesn’t become mushy during the baking process. You can substitute the farfalle with rotini or penne if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
