These baked Halloween donuts are the perfect spooky treat for your festive celebrations. Featuring a moist, cake-like crumb achieved through the use of Greek yogurt, each donut is enrobed in a rich dark chocolate glaze and finished with an intricate white chocolate spider web design. These oven-baked delights are quick to prepare, avoiding the mess of deep-frying, and offer a sophisticated, gourmet flavor profile that will impress both kids and adults at any Halloween party.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 large eggs
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons coconut oil (for thinning glaze)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, eggs, 1/4 cup melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
Pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Melt the dark chocolate chips with a tablespoon of coconut oil, then dip each cooled donut into the glaze.
Melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle in concentric circles over the dark glaze, then drag a toothpick from the center outward to create the spider web effect.
Notes
Ensure the donuts are completely cool before glazing to prevent the chocolate from sliding off. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For a vibrant twist, you can add a drop of orange food coloring to the white chocolate.
