Description

These savory, golden-brown salmon croquettes feature a perfect contrast between a crispy panko-crusted exterior and a tender, moist interior. Crafted from flaked salmon, fresh herbs, and aromatic bell peppers, these protein-packed patties are an ideal solution for a quick weeknight dinner or an elegant appetizer. Simple to prepare and bursting with flavor, they are a pantry-friendly favorite that brings a touch of sophistication to any meal without the complexity of traditional seafood preparations.

Ingredients

15 oz canned pink salmon, drained and flaked
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup finely diced green bell pepper
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (ensure alcohol-free formulation)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup vegetable oil for pan-frying

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, panko breadcrumbs, beaten egg, bell pepper, parsley, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Mix gently until well incorporated, being careful not to over-mash the salmon pieces.
Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, pressing firmly so they hold their shape.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Place the patties in the hot skillet and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side until deeply golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the skillet and drain briefly on a paper towel before serving.

Notes

Ensure your Worcestershire sauce is free of malt vinegar or other alcohol-derived ingredients to keep the dish strictly non-alcoholic. Serve with a side of lemon wedges or a dollop of tartar sauce.
