Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1 cup orzo pasta
2 cups beef broth (halal)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the ground beef and allow it to brown undisturbed for several minutes to develop a deep sear.
Stir in the diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
Add the orzo pasta, tomato sauce, beef broth, and oregano.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente.
Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream until the sauce thickens and emulsifies.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure the beef is not over-stirred during the initial browning to achieve the best flavor. You can add spinach or peas towards the end of cooking for extra nutrition. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
