Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Shape ground beef into 6-8 patties (about 3-4 inches in diameter)
Heat 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat; sear patties 2 minutes per side; transfer to a 9×13-inch baking dish
In the same skillet, melt remaining butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in beef broth and 1 tsp salt. Cook 5 minutes, then stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Remove from heat, mix in sour cream. Pour gravy over patties in the baking dish
Bake 35 minutes. Let rest 5-10 minutes before serving
Notes
Let the bake rest before slicing to retain gravy in the patties
Optional: Add 1/2 cup frozen peas or carrots to the gravy for a hearty side
Storage: Refrigerate cooled leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days
