Description

A rich and creamy slow cooker butter chicken made with warm spices, tender chicken, and a velvety tomato sauce. Perfect for easy crockpot dinners and meal prep.


Ingredients

2 lbs boneless chicken thighs or breasts

4 tbsp unsalted butter

1 medium onion, diced

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 tbsp grated ginger

1½ cups tomato sauce

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 cup heavy cream

2 tsp garam masala

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp coriander

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp turmeric

½ tsp chili powder

1½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper


Instructions

1. Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the slow cooker.

2. Place chicken on top and season with spices.

3. Add tomato sauce and tomato paste.

4. Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.

5. Remove chicken, cut into pieces, and return to pot.

6. Stir in butter and cream.

7. Cook an additional 20–30 minutes.

8. Garnish with cilantro and serve.

Notes

Use chicken thighs for best texture.

Coconut milk can replace cream for dairy-free option.
